In the United States, abortion levels are at their lowest for over ten years. This fact was highlighted in a recent report compiled by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which focused on 47 States.
The report revealed that there were 664,435 abortions in 2013, namely 20% less than in 2004. This figure represents only half of the number of abortions reported in 1980. Moreover, the last time that a lower rate was recorded was in 1971, two years before the American Supreme Court extended access to abortion.
According to this current report, the decrease in the number of abortions coincides with the reduction in the number of teenage pregnancies.
