Publié le : 28 March 2014

After several weeks of controversial debate surrounding STAP cell results, the RIKEN Centre launched an intermediate report during a press conference held on 14 March.

A team of scientists at the RIKEN Centre (Japan) led by Haruko Obokata, Head of the Cell Reprogramming Laboratory, published details of new pluripotent cells – STAP cells – in the Nature journal (Gènéthique press review on January 27th, 2014).

In this interim report, the study committee set up to investigate these results concluded that "data were used inappropriately" and confirmed that the enquiry would take its course.
