In the Netherlands, “30,000 women terminate their pregnancy every year”. “That’s far too many” for Health Minister, Edith Schippers, who is considering greater involvement of General Practitioners in supporting women who hesitate about continuing their pregnancy. “We are doing a lot more on information and prevention. But I worry when I see the figures. I want to reduce the number of abortions”, she stated.
