The first woman with an uterus implant is pregnant

Two years ago, a young Turkish woman aged 22, born without an uterus, benefited for the first time in the world from an implant of an uterus from a deceased donor. On Friday 12 April, her doctors announced that she is pregnant.        
The doctors in fact implanted in the uterus of the young woman "several embryos conceived in vitro with her ovules and sperm from her husband." Although Prof. Mustafa Ünal, senior consultant in Akdeniz university hospital in Antalya, confirmed the good health of the patient, Turkish television channels mentioned that "the pregnancy […] carries numerous risks" and that the young woman will have to "give birth by Caesarean section two months before her normal term."
