Surrogacy: A new controversial Men Having Babies Exhibition

Publié le 27 Sep, 2017

For the second time, the American association, Men Having Babies, is organising a European conference in Brussels on 24 and 25 September 2017 in order to “bring male homosexual couples into contact with American service providers” (see Brussels: funding for surrogate mothers fuels lively political debate).

Men Having Babies is benefiting from Belgium’s lack of legislative framework. “Since there is no legal framework regarding surrogacy,” Belgian centres offering surrogacy and offering surrogacy assistance “are extremely cautious“. Most of them require “gametes (sex cells, i.e. eggs for women and sperm for men) from intended parents”.

The event which promotes “commercial” surrogacy is “strongly criticised“.
