Quebec: MAP for all costs too much

Publié le : 21 June 2013

Since August 2010, in Quebec, heterosexual couples, single women and women couples can have free access to three cycles of medically assisted procreation. But owing to the financial cost of this public programme, which for the past three years has been extended to include homosexual couples, "its access could be restricted to heterosexual couples." Gaétan Barette, president of the Federation of Specialist Doctors, says he would be favourable to this restriction to return to the medical conditions and prevent the MAP programme from being too expensive.
