Posthumous sperm retrieval authorised in Israel

Publié le 9 Dec, 2016

Following a long legal battle, a 50 year-old Israeli couple have been granted permission to posthumously retrieve the sperm of their son who died in a car accident at the age of 25. They wanted to “give” him a child because he was keen to “have a family”. In addition to granting posthumous sperm retrieval, the court is also allowing the couple to raise the child who will be conceived using their deceased son’s sperm and purchased eggs.
