Publié le : 26 October 2012

After the announcement by the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk of the introduction in Poland from July 2013 of a programme to refund the cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF), a survey carried out by the Research Centre on Public Opinion has revealed that "60% of Poles approve this principle," whereas "a fringe group within the party of the Prime Minister, the Civic Platform (PO, centrist), is hostile to it."
Reacting to this announcement, the Minister for Justice, Jaroslaw Gowin, said that he intends to "reserve the refund to married couples only” and that he is “opposed to the freezing of embryos."
