In Philippines, the law authorising free contraception and sexual education, voted by the parliament on 17 December last, came into force on Thursday 17 January (Weekly news summary from 17th to 21st of december) . "It authorises public medical centres to make free condoms and pills available, sexual education lessons in schools and training in the limitation of births for the health personnel of public establishments." The government is currently working on the conditions of its application.
