Neonatal mortality in France: the College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians reacts

 After the publication of the "Euro-Peristat" report which reveals that France has the highest rate of stillborn children in Europe, (Gènéthique press review on May 27th, 2013) the French National College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF) reacted with a statement: "France must take all the measures necessary to improve the indicators of perinatal health." It considers that "these results are not worthy of the means implemented [in France] for treating mothers and their newborn infants." To remedy this low ranking, it recommends that France should provide itself with appropriate means of information and analysis. It "regrets in particular that the national perinatal surveys are carried out only every 7 years.
