Male contraception for 2017?

Publié le 11 Sep, 2014

Male contraception could soon be available to the general public. The name of this type of contraception? Vasalgel, “a gel that is injected into the vas deferens and prevents sperm from being ejaculated“.

This product has been developed by the Parsemus Foundation. According to the Foundation, tests have been carried out for six months on mating baboons. There were no pregnancies. The outcome of this contraceptive method is “similar to that of a vasectomy but is reversible“.

Clinical trials are scheduled for next year before a market launch around 2016-2017.
