Ireland: the debate on abortion is renewed

 In Ireland, the death of a young pregnant woman of Indian origin after she was refused an abortion has led to controversy. According to the press, "a hundred people demonstrated on Friday in front of the Irish embassy in New Delhi, accusing the Irish authorities of having committed ‘a medical murder’."

The Irish Prime Minister, Enda Kenny, declared that abortion "is a subject that has divided Irish society for many years and [he] will not be rushed on the issue of abortion by pressures from any side.
