Increasing numbers of Chinese women are travelling abroad to freeze their eggs

Publié le 20 Sep, 2016

In China, where reproductive medicine is strictly regulated, surrogacy and egg donation are forbidden. However, more and more single Chinese women “are travelling abroad to freeze their eggs in order to keep their options open and control the pace of their lives”. In the United States, the demand for this type of service has increased annually from 10 to 15% over the last 3 years.

Advisory companies have specialised in services to “help clients with their visa applications, meet them at the airport, and arrange accommodation, translators and even Chinese-speaking chauffeurs”. Furthermore, a certain number of American clinics have opened offices in a dozen Chinese cities.
