Heily Delage, now five months old, “is a real-life miracle,” according to her parents. Eight months into the pregnancy, she was diagnosed with a “serious brain condition”. Following a medically recommended abortion, the baby was born alive last July.
Her parents then contacted the Rothschild Foundation in Paris, who proposed a neurosurgical procedure. This was performed on 28 November. After a ten-hour procedure, doctors “were hopeful”.
Her parents “have instigated legal proceedings against Boulogne, Calais and Lille Hospital Centres, all three of which were involved in the decision to perform an abortion”.
