On 4 July 2017, the Welsh and Scottish Governments confirmed that they would offer free abortions to women from Northern Ireland. Their decision reflects the British Government’s announcement on 29 June 2017 to finance abortions for women from Northern Ireland. These procedures are already available to all British women (see United Kingdom: abortion is now available free of charge for women from Northern Ireland).
