Family Planning Videos: initial accusation dropped against the two journalists

Publié le 14 Jun, 2016

The accusations made against David Deleiden and Sandra Merritt from the Center for Medical Progress have been partly dropped. Both anti-abortion journalists were accused of falsifying their identity to produce secretly filmed videos intimating that they wished to purchase aborted embryo organs from the family planning association.

Only the embryo purchase charge was rejected – an act deemed necessary by the prosecutor to denounce the family planning association’s illegal practices.  Initial victory.

However, David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt are still being charged for using false identity papers and risk spending up to 20 years in prison. Their lawyers explained that these false documents were used as part of the investigation.

Lawyers acting for the family planning association are not expected to appeal against the decision
