Publié le : 27 September 2013

According to a report published on 24 September by a specialist commission, euthanasia has been constantly rising in the Netherlands since 2006, with a 13% increase witnessed between 2011 and 2012. More precisely, the commission highlighted 1,923 cases in 2006 and 4,188 cases in 2012, i.e. accounting for approximately 3% of all deaths in the Netherlands.

The cases are mostly cancer-related but "some suggest greater tolerance towards this practice amongst the population, patients and doctors".
