Since the election of Donald Trump, the American Family Planning Association has witnessed a substantial increase in individual donations – around 80,000 in one week. These donors are anticipating a potential decrease in planned parenthood financing. Six hundred and fifty American Family Planning Health Centres currently depend on public financing for at least half of their revenue, especially Mercaid, which provides health insurance for people with limited resources. Planned parenthood is also noticing an increase in requests for long-term contraceptives such as IUDs and for sterilisation.
