Donald Trump opposes late-term abortions

On Tuesday, during his State of the Union address, US President Donald Trump raised the issue of abortion. He called for a restriction on late-term abortions, referring to controversies over the recent laws adopted by the states of New York and Virginia (see US: after New-York, are late-term abortions in the cards in Virginia?;

 “[T]o defend the dignity of every person […] I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in a mother’s womb”, he said. He made a call to “Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life“, instead of cheering “the passage of legislation” ” that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments from birth“.
