Euthanasia was decriminalised in Belgium 15 years ago. Since May 2002, almost 15,000 people have been officially given euthanasia and this number has increased by 41% over the last four years.
In Luxembourg, euthanasia has been legal since 2009. Figures are also rising in this country. In 8 years, 52 people received euthanasia including 18 between 2015 and 2016.
