On Tuesday, 19 November 2013, in Belgium, socialist and liberal senators pushed for "a decision to be made on 26 November by the Senate Commission in relation to "extending the euthanasia law to minors". According to the RTBF (Radio Télévision Belge Francophone) website, a new majority of senators "is prepared to support the extension of the euthansia law to non-emancipated minors provided that only physical as opposed to mental suffering is taken into account". The website adds that, "contrary to adult legislation, euthanasia can only be requested when death is imminent ".
