Australia: a draft law to put an end to selective abortions and infanticide

 The debate has been sparked by an Australian Member of Parliament: MP Geoff Shaw has just put forward a draft law intended to prohibit selective abortion and to oblige doctors to save babies who survive abortions. He also suggests that partial birth abortions should be illegal and calls for doctors to anaesthetise babies intended to be aborted. Finally, his draft law includes advice for women who wish to have an abortion in order to ensure that they give their informed consent.
