A London hospital wants to balance its budget by selling sperm

In the United Kingdom, a National Health Service (NHS) hospital in  London wants to balance its budget by selling sperm. Although it is a non-profit-making hospital, it is allowed to do this.

Embryologist, Erica Foster, from the Whittington Hospital estimates that a vial of donor sperm will cost around £900, i.e. approximately $1,120. She hopes that clients will feel more at ease buying “paternity for a future baby” from a Government-controlled hospital than from a “faceless” website or foreign sperm bank.
