A fertility clinic sued for failing to carry out genetic tests on eggs

Publié le 28 Nov, 2017

Two couples have initiated legal proceedings against a New York doctor and his fertility clinic. They underwent MAP (medically assisted procreation) with egg donation but these gametes transferred fragile X syndrome to their children[1]. The parents are blaming the doctor for failing to test the egg donors for this genetic disease, and are claiming damages for their handicapped children. The New York Court of Appeal examined the case on Wednesday and a decision is expected in 2018.
